Frequently Asked Questions

Clients come to this work when persistent patterns keep getting in the way — even after gaining insight, using willpower, or doing other work. Most commonly, that looks like anxiety, emotional reactivity, overthinking, self-doubt, or relationship patterns that keep causing pain. Others come because chronic symptoms have not found relief through conventional treatment.

My specialization is in root-level subconscious work — not in a single condition or diagnosis.
A diagnosis can be useful information, but it is not the whole story. Symptoms often point to deeper patterns held in the subconscious mind, nervous system, and energy body. This work focuses on the terrain beneath the symptom: the patterns, emotional imprints, and protective responses that may be driving what you’re experiencing.
As those patterns shift and blocks release, clients generally notice that symptoms begin to ease or resolve as a natural byproduct.

It can be deeply frustrating to have done the work, gained insight, tried different approaches, and still feel like the same patterns keep coming back.
When patterns remain stuck, it is often because some part of the subconscious still believes they are helping you in one or several different ways.
This work is about discovering what is keeping those patterns in place and helping your system feel safe enough to change or release them.
Clients often come to me after talk therapy, hypnosis, reiki, craniosacral work, mindfulness, or other modalities haven’t helped enough.
This work is not defined by a single modality. It draws from multiple approaches, along with my own discoveries, to meet what is actually driving the issue. The depth, precision, and fit of the work matter — because persistent issues are rarely caused by one isolated thing. They are usually made up of layers: subconscious beliefs, emotional imprints, nervous-system responses, energetic blocks, and protective strategies that have become entangled over time.
Our work is to begin pulling on the right threads so the system can start to reorganize.

Yes. This is one of the most common things I hear.
Many clients have done real work — therapy, coaching, personal development, healing work — and made genuine progress. And yet there’s still a point they can’t seem to get past. The same patterns keep reasserting themselves despite everything they’ve done.
That ceiling is often a sign that some layers have shifted, while deeper layers are still organizing your emotional responses, reactions, or symptoms from beneath the surface.
This work is designed to meet those deeper layers directly. When they begin to shift, change can start to happen in places that insight, effort, and coping strategies haven’t been able to reach.

Everyone is different, though most people feel some shift in their first session—often lighter, calmer, clearer, or more at ease.
How long the shift holds and how deep it goes depends on the pattern. Some changes happen quickly. Others unfold over time, especially when a pattern has been running for years.
You may experience changes in three ways:
Immediately — there is a noticeable shift in how you feel, think, or respond right away
Incrementally — steady changes build over time
Retroactively — the change becomes so natural that you may not notice when it happened, until you look back or someone reflects it back to you

Sessions are weekly at the beginning to create momentum and help you feel movement as quickly as possible.
How long we work together depends on what you want support with, how long the pattern has been running, and how far you want to go. Some clients come with a specific issue they want to resolve and do well with a shorter engagement. Others are working with patterns that have shaped much of their lives and are better served by more sustained support.
The right fit for where you are now is something we figure out together on the discovery call.

No. You are never required to share more than you are comfortable with.
One of the things that makes this work different is that we do not always need the full story to access the pattern. In many cases, simply bringing something to mind is enough to begin working with it at the subconscious and nervous-system level.
When difficult experiences do come up, we work with them in a way that helps discharge the energy and emotional charge held in the system, so the story can begin to lose its grip. The emotional pain and reactivity connected to the past can become more neutral, so what happened no longer has the same hold over you.

Yes. Many clients use this work alongside other forms of treatment or support, and some physicians refer patients to me directly.
Any decisions about medication should always be made with your prescribing physician. I do not make recommendations about medication, and this work does not require you to change or stop anything you are currently taking.

No. This is a private-pay practice and is not billed directly through insurance.
Some HSA and FSA plans may cover this kind of work. Please check with your plan provider to see whether complementary therapies — such as somatic, mind/body, or bioenergetic work — are eligible for reimbursement. I’m happy to provide a receipt you can submit to your plan.

Not at all. I work with clients across the country and have done so for years — long before virtual sessions became the norm.
Virtual sessions are just as effective as in-person sessions, and many of my clients are people I have never met in person.
If you are local to Chicago, in-person sessions are available by appointment at my office in River West.

Yes. What you share with me stays private.
This is a space where you can be honest without filtering yourself, over-explaining, or worrying about being judged for what comes up.
I do not share what we discuss in our sessions — or the fact that we’re working together — with anyone without your explicit permission, unless disclosure is required by law.
